The candidate must be a resident of West Bengal, apart from this many criteria fall into this scheme such as:

Educational criteria: 

  • Candidate must be a student of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education, or Madrasa Education.
  • Undergraduate courses must stick to undergraduate degrees in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, and Technical/Professional courses admitted through AICTE-approved institutions and affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.
  • For post-graduation, the student should be admitted to post-graduate courses in science, arts, commerce, technical, or management at reputed government institutions/AICTE-approved institutions of West Bengal.
  • The applicant must take an M. Phil or Doctoral course in a state-aided Institutions for research courses. NON-NET Junior Research Fellow and NET-Lectureship.

The family income of the applicant should not be more than ₹2,50,000.

Important Note for Female Students: The program is available for daughters of West Bengal, who complete their bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate mark and wish to pursue further studies in the fields of Science, Arts, or Commerce. This inducement is available under the Kanyashree(K3) category.
Some Additional Information: The students who are benefiting from this particular scholarship will not be eligible for any other grant or stipend offered by a government institution at any level or type of education, the scholarships that come as a one-time grant to students or aids from other sources will not be counted as income concerning eligibility for this scholarship.

Renewal 2023-24 (Swami Vivekananda Scholarship)

The process of renewal of Swami Vivekanand Scholarship program is as follows:

  • This applies only if they are advanced bypassing all the necessary tests at the first attempt.
  • For semester courses, all semester examinations must be passed on the first attempt.
  • Renewal requests may be approved based solely on academic performance.

In particular, undergraduate students must obtain a minimum score of as follows:

  • For Higher Secondary to Graduate Level: At least 60% marks in the progress examinations taking into account both semesters.
  • For Postgraduate Level: At least 50% marks obtained across both semesters.

Scholarship Conspiracies 2023-24 for students pursuing General Degree/Postgraduate Programs under the Directorate of Public Informal Education (DPI) are as follows:

  • 1st Recharging: Yield marksheets for Semester 1 and Semester 2.
  • 2nd Recharging: Yield marksheets for Semester 3 and Semester 4.

The recharging directions for MBBS students are:
