The West Bengal government launched the “Krishak Bandhu Scheme” as a leading initiative through the Department of Agriculture in 2019. Supported by its guaranteed continuous stream of income and insurance protection, this scheme targets farming communities. In addition, it aims at providing farmers with monetary assistance of ₹10000 annually (₹5000 per acre given in two installments). The fiscal backing within the Scheme is payable in two equal installments first during the Kharif and Rabi season.

The Objectives of the scheme are as follows:

• 1. To provide financial support to farmers during the pre-production stage by helping them to buy productive inputs.
• 2. To ensure income security for farming households in case of premature death of a farmer.

Krishak Bandhu Scheme: Objective of Scheme

Under Krishak Bandhu Guaranteed Salary Conspire, agriculturists will get:-

• The entirety of Rs. 10,000/- per section of land per year to those agriculturists who have 1 section of land or more cultivable land.
• Whole of Rs. 4,000/- per section of land per year who have less than 1 section of cultivable land.
• Under the Krishak Bandhu Passing Advantage Plot, the claimant will get monetary help of Rs. 2,00,000/-. in case of less than ideal passing of the agriculturist
• All ranchers of West Bengal are qualified to take advantage of West Bengal Krishak Bandhu Scheme.
• On June 17, 2021, this orchestrate was renamed Krishak Bandhu (Natun).
• The monetary help will be given to eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
• Farmers can apply for annual monetary through the Krishak Bandhu Guaranteed Wage Conspire Application Form.

Feature of Krishak Bandhu Scheme

• Farmers will get two equal installments every year
• 1 acre or more cultivated land: Rs. 5,000/- for rabi crop and Rs. 5,000/- for kharif crop.
• 1 acre of cultivable land: Rs. 2,000/- for rabi crop and Rs. 2,000/- for kharif crop.
• The age the farmer should be between 18 to 60 years
• Voter ID card is mandatory
•  Rs. 2,00,000/- will be granted to the claimant on time if the farmer dies unexpectedly. West Bengal State Co-operative Bank Limited is the main bank for this scheme. At the time of verification, the original documents should be shown by the farmer.

Eligibility Criteria Under Krishak Bandhu Scheme

• All cultivators who possess cultivable land with RoR, Patta, or Forest Patta and recorded (in RoR) Bhagchasi (Sharecroppers) come under this scheme for assistance.
• No more than once in case of the demise of any farmer or a recorded Bhagchasi (Share Cropper) in the age group of 18 – 60 years does the legitimate successor get an annual subsidy.
• In case the aforementioned occurs, then the Block Development Officer (BDO) shall determine such legal heirs.

Application Process Under (Krishak Bandhu Scheme)

1) Registration Process

• Let’s begin by going to their website at https://bsk.wb.gov.in/register
• Click “New Client Enroll Here” and add your phone number before entering the OTP.
• On the registration page, provide your necessary details such as name, email address, mobile number, address and password, etc. Then click on “Register”. The login details will be sent to your registered Mail ID / Mobile Number.

2) How to Apply Online?

• Go to the official site: https://bsk.wb.gov.in/citizenlogin
• Enter your mobile number & password then click ‘Login’.
• Search for the scheme by name.
• Fill in every mandatory section on the application page then upload requisite documents in the appropriate size and type. After successfully applying, you will receive an Application Reference ID.
